"Cowardly, fearful of Shere Khan," said Bagheera under his whiskers.
"Sssss! Have they ever called me that?" said Kaa.
"Something of that kind it was that they said on the internet, but we never noticed them. They will say anything - even that thou art a lisping pedophile with Winnie the Pooh's voice (they are indeed shameless, the Walt Disney Company)," Bagheera went on sweetly.
Now a snake, especially a wary old python like Kaa, very seldom shows that he is angry, but Baloo and Bagheera could see the big swallowing muscles on either side of Kaa's throat ripple and bulge.
"They called me also 'Scarlett Johansson' was it not?"
"Cowardly, comical," said Bagheera; "as well as other things which I cannot say for shame."
"We must remind them to speak well of their master. Aaa-sssh! We must help their wandering memories."
Look, I wrote a fanfic.

Another reason I consider Nippon Animation's version of Jungle Book much better than Disney's. That one didn't screw up Kaa at all.

I mean the 2016 film is one of the most breathtaking things I've seen, but Kaa was pretty damn useless in it.

That's what I heard. I look forward to the Warner Brothers version.

I'm pretty sure some elements will be stolen from the new film, but at least they can't steal King Louie. Man he was BADASS in this movie.

It seems like they're committed to staying close to the book.

If he thinks this is bad, wait until he sees what the creepy side of the internet has done to him.
If his charms could work on humans, I'm almost certain he'd go up to all them creepy fanartists and show them how fun it REALLY is to be under his spell...

I believe Walt's words when the movie was being made were something along the lines of "Here's the novel. What I want you to do is not read it"

Yeah, that's what I heard too. Why Walt?

He was creating a children's/family movie, and the source material was a little dark...

Not that that excuses the complete butchering of Kaa's character. But hey, we got King Louie from the movie, so there's something.

The book was a children's book. And it's not like Disney is afraid to go dark.

Yeah, but that's the only idea anyone seems to offer.

I think Walt Disney was just kind of a dick.
